Faster Dispatch, From Hours to Minutes
A composite scenario showing how territory-based dispatch and mobile service reports change day-to-day field service operations.
Company profile: A regional security-systems and AMC provider running roughly 20 field engineers across multiple cities.
Illustrative scenario. This is a composite example based on patterns we commonly see across DexVee deployments in this industry — not a single named, verified customer. Company details, quotes and figures are representative, not audited results from one specific business.
The situation
Like many field service businesses at this stage, dispatch ran through phone calls and a shared WhatsApp group: a new service request came in, someone manually checked which engineer was nearest and available, and called them directly. Engineers filled in paper job sheets, which were manually re-entered into a spreadsheet at the end of the week — sometimes days after the actual visit.
AMC renewals were tracked in a separate spreadsheet nobody consistently updated, so scheduled maintenance visits were sometimes missed entirely until a customer called to ask why nobody had shown up.
The approach
Territory-based dispatch
Service requests were logged as structured tickets and dispatched based on engineer territory and live availability, instead of a phone-call lookup.
Mobile service reports
Engineers moved to the DexVee mobile app for job details, service reports and customer sign-off. Updates made in basement plant rooms with poor signal are saved on the phone and sync when the signal returns.
Scheduled maintenance automation
AMC contracts were configured to auto-generate their visit schedule, with renewal reminders surfacing 30+ days ahead of contract expiry.
What changed
- In this scenario, average time from service request to engineer dispatch dropped from over an hour of back-and-forth calls to under 15 minutes.
- Service reports became available to the office the same day, instead of being reconstructed from paper a week later.
- AMC renewal follow-ups started happening automatically ahead of expiry, instead of being missed until a customer complained.
